At Al Udied we currently face a low threat in regards to the local populace. The population is friendly to the U.S. and it's allies, and supports the coalition stance in the current standoff with the Iranian government.

In contrast the terrorist threat posed to our forces and U.S. and allied nation civilians is high. Due to the operatinal strategies of Islamic terrorist groups, it is exceedingly difficult to predict where and when they may stike. Several well organized groups are known to have a presence and are operating in the local area. The known major attacks these groups may employ are: Kidnapings, sniping, IED's, poisoning food and or water supplies, rocket & RPG attacks, biological attacks, sabotage of equipment and facilities ect. There is good intel that a suitcase sized nuclear device is either in country or insertion into the country is being attempted.

Iranian intelligence operatives are in country and are actively attempting to elict information on all aspects of our operations. Remember....while always important, OPSEC & COMMSEC are critical to our success and the safety of our people.

Stay alert to your surroundings and report suspicious activities or situations no matter how trivial you think they may be. Suspicious packages, persons, anyone especially TCN's (Third Country Nationals) who ask questions about our operations or locations of personnel, tent assignments, unit names and strength ect; should be a red flag and you should report it immediately.

All personnel should practice the 2 man concept whenever possible. Any trips authorized off base will have at least 8 personnel with at least one person of the rank of TSgt or above. Flak jackets will be worn at all times while off post.
