The 63rd Virtual Fighter Squadron is part of the 56th Virtual Fighter Wing. Our group based itself loosely on the real life 56th Fighter Wing located at Luke AFB Arizona. We have absolutly no affiliation with the real 56th or the USAF. The 56th uses Falcon 4.0, to conduct a multitude of varying virtual flight operations.

Falcon 4.0 is the most realistic simulation of the F-16 and modern Air Combat produced to date. Introduced in December 1998 it has yet to be surpassed or even equaled in many aspects. Many upgrades to the stock Falcon 4.0 sim have been created and distributed for free by Falcon community members and patch groups. You can find some of these, on this sites links page. These upgrades or "Patches" have taken Falcon to ever higher levels of realisim and immersion. Over 100 flyable aircraft, new theaters such as the Balkans, Operation Desert Storm, and Vietnam, cockpit art for aircraft other than the F-16, updated weapons such as JDAM & JSOW, carrier ops, improved graphics, full ramp starts, and much more. Efforts to even further inhance and improve this amazing simulation are ongoing and if anything increasing in breadth and scope.

The 63rd uses Open Falcon 4.3 as our patch of choice for official SQ flights. However, most of us have multiple installs using everything from SP4 BMS2 to Falcon 4.0 Allied Force. 56th VFW Squadrons use a custom version of OF 4.3. For details contact Thumpper, or your SQ CO/XO.

Our goal is to fly realisticly but in a relaxed and friendly manner, with emphasis put on having fun flying and training more than overly "hardcore" expectations. We like to keep things casual while maintaining high realisim, flight disipline and unparalled training. If you are interested in joining our ranks please visit the recruiting link. The 56th also has 3 other active squadrons. The 310th fly using Falcon 4.0 Allied Force. The 308th and 309th fly the 56th VFW customized version of Open Falcon 4.3.
